The afternoon BEFORE my trial was supposed to end I received the email from them thanking me for subscribing to Premium.
Obviously, I was confused. It is normal for companies to provide free trials in hopes you like the item enough to really pay for it. What is not normal is for your company to LIE for you and bill you the day before the free trial will even finish, in effect tricking you and stealing your money. I was mad.
I looked on the internet and following 30 minutes of digging I found a telephone number for the firm (Red flag, that which valid company does not have an easily accessible customer support number?) . I called that number and it moved right to voicemail. Now I was freaking out because most of these adventures were causing me to believe this really was a scam. The only real option left to me was to compose them an email via their website. This was more than 3 months past, and I have yet to find a response.
I am appalled at how they handle business (by tricking their customers, then ignoring their issues). They stole my cash without any warning and are currently unreachable.
I went back to their own site and even their advertisement for Premium is a lie. It clearly says that your Premium account is cancelable at anytime. What they really mean is it is possible to cancel it so it won't revive at the next billing cycle (that will be an entire year!!) . They're crooks. If their articles were not any good, I would have happily continued using their services, but most of their movies are items I could find on YouTube or alternative places for free. The one thing that I am do now is spare other people the hassle.
DO NOT sign up for your free trial. If you do a bit more research you will discover a multitude of other reviews such as mine.
Proceed into Lynda.com or even YouTube. Please, do not make the exact same mistake that I did, and keep away!!
I wrote to Skillshare one last time, also it feels like in the past 4 months they have upped their client service match. I got a biased response apologizing to my prior experience and with an offer to refund me all my cash. This gesture was more than I anticipated, and I am thankful to know that individuals do work in this business, and it seems they're listening to the negative reviews sites and attempting to make a better firm. I still have a sour taste in my mouth, but I really feel as though once they ended up giving me all my money back I should update my review and provide them more than 1 star.
