Shusha (Azerbaijani: _u_a, (listen)) or Shushi (Armenian: _____) is a city in Azerbaijan, within the disputed area of Nagorno-Karabakh. The town became one of the cultural centers of the South Caucasus after the Russian conquest of the Caucasus area from Qajar Iran in the first half of the 19th century.
