In TOS and TNG, nearly all of the principle forged was human. The next Generation has the warfare between the Federation and the Cardassians, which was answerable for creating the Anti-Federation confederates known because the Maquis; and "brutal border wars" against the Talarians and the Tzenkethi, which occurred at some point between TOS and TNG. Were it not for the cliffhanger ending in "The Better of Both Worlds", TNG won't have been renewed and the franchise would have ended there. There are shades of this with the girls, too, as Altan and his colleagues created a number of android ladies who share a face with Adam's test tube Designer Baby Kore Soong (being played by the identical actress, Isa Briones). He's a geneticist with a shaky grasp on ethics, so one wonders if perhaps he cloned himself… After which Spiner reveals up in Picard as Noonians never-before-mentioned human son Altan Soong, and as Dr. Adam Soong (quite presumably the first Soong of them all) in the 21st century.
