The velocity in older boxes of this ammo was in the high 900 FPS range. The newer ammunition is in the 800 FPS range. We might carry this ammunition in our G 42 during the summer but not in our Ruger LCP with the 2.8-inch barrel. We have noticed that there is often a two-inch difference in penetration by two different testers even though they were using the same ammunition in the same make and model pistol. If we added the two inches of observed bounce back to the penetration depth of the bullets recovered from the clear gel the results more closely aligned with the depth of penetration achieved in other types of gel.
