6th Guards Separate Lviv-Berlin Orders of Bogdan Khmelnitsky, Alexander Nevsky and Red Star Signal Regiment – The Armed Forces of the Red Army, the USSR and the Russian Federation. During the Great Patriotic War, he took part in the Battle of the Caucasus, in the Battle of Kursk, the Lvov-Sandomierz offensive operation, the Sandomierz-Silesian offensive operation, the Lower Silesian offensive operation, the Upper Silesian offensive operation, the Berlin offensive operation, the Prague offensive operation.

Story

Formed in the Penza region in May 1942 as the 118th separate communications regiment. He was included in the troops of the 24th Army of the Southern Front, from August 12, 1942 it was reassigned to the Northern Group of Forces of the Transcaucasian Front. During the battle for the Caucasus, in the difficult conditions of the mountainous theater of military operations, the regiment skillfully provided communication between the army headquarters (group) and subordinate formations and units.

At the beginning of July 1943, he was included in the 4th Tank (from March 17, 1945, 4th Guards Tank) Army, in which he acted until the end of the war. The regiment’s personnel reliably ensured command and control of the army’s troops in the Oryol, Proskurov-Chernivtsi and Lvov-Sandomierz offensive operations. For the exemplary performance of combat missions during the liberation of the city of Lvov by army troops, the regiment was given the honorary title of Lvov (August 10, 1944). In January – March 1945, he took part in the Sandomierz-Silesian, Lower Silesian and Upper Silesian offensive operations.

He was awarded the Order of the Red Star for the skillful performance of command assignments (February 19, 1945). For the courage and courage shown by the personnel, on April 4, 1945, it was transformed into the 6th separate guards communications regiment.

Signal guards showed high military skill in the final operations of the Great Patriotic War. For ensuring uninterrupted command and control of army troops in the Berlin and Prague offensive operations, the regiment was awarded the Orders of Alexander Nevsky (April 26), Bogdan Khmelnitsky 2nd degree (May 28) and was awarded the honorary title of Berlin (June 4, 1945), and the regiment commander, Guards. Lieutenant Colonel Oytsev IK was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, II degree.

During the Great Patriotic War, 718 soldiers of the regiment were awarded orders and medals.

In May 2021, on the territory of the successor of the regiment of the 9th Guards Command Brigade, the Walk of Fame „For Warriors to Signalers" was opened.

After the war

Relocated to the Eberswalde area. Participated in providing command and control of troops in the „Berlin Crisis" in 1961. In the operation „Danube" in 1968.

In 1993, the regiment was withdrawn from the Western Group of Forces to Voronezh.

In 2009, it was reorganized into the 9th Guards Command Brigade.

Honorary title „Lvovskiy" – in commemoration of the victory and distinction in the battles for the liberation of the city of Lviv. Order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief dated January 1, 1944.

Honorary title „Berlin" – in commemoration of the victory and distinction in the battles for the capture of Berlin. Order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief No. 0109 June 4, 1945.
