Together for years writing and playing original music on Vashon Island and in the Seattle, WA area, the FieldHands are a rock band. I think our music blends some of the best traits of rock, alternative country and the americana vibe present in music from artists like Wilco, Son Volt, Lucinda Williams, Ryan Adams, Iris Dement, JJ Cale and others. Multiple harmonies, driving guitar lines and soaring lead instrumentals punctuate good stories and strong melodies. The FieldHands incorporate local flavor and imagery in their lyrics. We write songs about love, friendship, journeys, the road beneath our feet and the water that surrounds us.
