Republicans in Texas formally rejected President Joe Biden's election in 2020 as illegitimate and voted in a state-wide convention that wrapped up this weekend on a party platform that calls homosexuality an 'abnormal lifestyle choice.'
The convention was held at the George R.
Brown Convention Center from Thursday until Saturday, and the vote to reject Biden's election win was a verbal one.
That resolution said: 'We believe that the 2020 election violated Article 1 and 2 of the US Constitution, that various secretaries of state illegally circumvented their state legislatures in conducting their elections in multiple ways, Гидонлайн including by allowing ballots to be received after November 3 2020.'
The resolution went on to say that 'substantial election fraud' in cities helped Biden win.
It concluded: 'We reject the certified results of the 2020 Presidential election, and we hold that acting President Joseph Robinette Biden Jr was not legitimately elected by the people of the United States.'
Republicans were also urged to show up en masse to vote in the November midterms to minimize the effect of any future election fraud.
The other notable moments at the convention saw the Texas Republicans publicly rebuke Senator John Cornyn for engaging in bipartisan gun control talks, voted in favor of repealing the Voting Rights Act and voted on a measure demanding that schoolchildren 'learn about the humanity of the preborn child.'
The party's embrace of unfounded electoral fraud allegations in a bedrock Republican state came as a bipartisan congressional committee seeks to definitively and publicly debunk the false idea that Biden did not win the election.
The platform will be sent to the state capital Austin to be certified officially by the state Republican party.

Members voted to repeal the Voting Rights Act, a law that was passed to make it easier to Black Americans to vote

Among the most controversial moments of the convention saw Rep. Dan Crenshaw heckled by conservative activists

Votes on the provision are being tallied and certified following the bi-annual state party convention, a party spokesperson said.
The Log Cabin Republicans of Houston, an organization that represents LGBT conservatives, said it was once again denied a request to set up a booth at the party's convention this week, as it has been for past conventions.
The group called the Texas Republican Convention's actions 'not just narrow-minded, but politically short-sighted.'
However, the group is seeing 'no evidence' of other state Republican conventions adopting similar bans or exclusionary language, Charles Moran, Log Cabin Republican managing director, told Reuters.
'If anything we are being more included' than in the past, he said, noting that the 2020 Republican presidential campaign had an official pride coalition, and the gay Republican vote doubled between 2016 and 2020. 'President Trump was the most pro-gay Republican that we have ever had,' he added.
Acting chairman of the Log Cabin Republicans of Texas, Michael Cargill, told
The station reported that one speaker at the convention attempted to get the party to temper its language on homosexuality.
That speaker said: 'We're the Republican Party of Texas. We're not the Westboro Baptist Church.' A reference to the Topeka, Kansas, based church that consistently stage anti-LGBTQ protests nationwide.

On Friday, Senator John Cornyn who has represented Texas in the Senate since 2002.
There have been renewed nationwide calls for gun law reform following the deaths of 19 children and two teachers at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.
Another highlight of the convention saw Texas Congressman and former Navy SEAL Rep. Dan Crenshaw accosted by a group of party activists. Crenshaw was called 'Eyepatch McCain,' a reference to the late Republican Senator John McCain who famously did not always vote along party lines.
The phrase was first coined by Fox News Tucker Carlson.
