Aram Vilenovich Safaryan (Armenian ____ ________, October 3, 1962, Yerevan) – Armenian politician and public figure, journalist, political analyst.

Biography


1984 – Graduated from the History Department of the Yerevan State University.

1987 – postgraduate studies at the same faculty. Candidate of Philology.

1987-1992 – Deputy Dean, at the same time a lecturer in history, and then a senior lecturer at the Yerevan State University at the preparatory faculty for foreign citizens.

1990-1992 – As an international columnist, he contributed to the weekly newspaper „Hayk".

1991-1992 – political commentator for the Armenian State Television.

1993-1996 – Press Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.

1996-1997 – Counselor for Information and Cultural Relations of the Armenian Embassy in Iran.

1997 – Director of the Department of State Protocol of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

1998 – Director of the Lraber information-analytical agency of the national television of Armenia.

1998-1999 – international columnist for the weekly newspaper Zhamanak.

Since 1998 – Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations, Yerevan State University.

1991-2001 – head, international observer of the Lraber news and analytical programs of the Prometeus TV company.

2001-2006 – Deputy Director, Political Observer of Information and Social and Political Programs of the Prometevs TV and Radio Company.

2002-2006 – Member of the Board of the Yerevan Press Club.

2003-2006 – Member of the Board of the Yerevan Press Club.

2005-2006 – Director of the Yerevan Branch of the Moscow Institute of the CIS Countries.

In 1994, he was awarded the diplomatic rank of an adviser.

2001 – was recognized as „Journalist of the Year" by the Union of Intellectuals of Armenia. He took part in retraining programs for journalists in France (1998), in the USA (2002), in Israel (2004), in Austria (2004).

2007-2012 – Deputy of the IV convocation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia. Member of the Prosperous Armenia Party and secretary of the eponymous faction.

February 23, 2010 – Elected Chairman of the Standing Committee for the Protection of Human Rights and Public Issues of the RA Parliament.

2012 – Chairman of the research and analytical public organization „Integration and Development". Chief editor of the analytical site „Soyuzinfo.am".

2018 – Member of the International Academy of Informatization (Canada).

May 2019 – Member of the Public Council of the Republic of Armenia.
