This artist, Amber Lily, hails from the beautiful state of Hawaii and she's proud of it. Lily's musical history includes her band Tangled Roots, a duo which includes herself and Tubby Love. Love is featured on the album Wild in the song "I Will Meet You."
Living on the island provided her inspiration in creating her music, as did the difficult social and political climate we are living today in 2018. The album Wild is an acoustic pop opera that tells an engaging story of a young woman trying to be active in the world and telling others to take care of their home and the environment. She wants us to be weary of the societal messes that haunt us as well.
"Woman Remix ft. Lily Fangz" is a magnificent anthem about the female gender and how women should stick together. This song is relevant in light of the recent Kavanaugh hearings and the one year anniversary of #metoo. Lily's lyrics reminds us that we are strong and can overcome anything. The song starts out slowly, and makes the listener focus on the breathtaking lyrics. Once the acoustic guitar begins, you feel a tremendous urge to join and sing with the ladies.
My personal favorite from the album is "Raise Me Up." Lily's melancholy voice is so inspirational and works incredibly with her words. Hearing those words encourages you to hope for a better tomorrow and how we can change our world for the better. I want to read her writing when I wake up every morning. Us humans are filled with love and we need to spread it more to humans and the Earth. It was Mother Nature's intention.
​Lily describes her album Wild as "emotional and spiritual." She explains how it empowers women to believe that it is their time to be powerful and men who want to be more empathetic. I feel that this statement fits perfectly with the album. After taking in everything, I want to sit back and relax and enjoy the world around me. It helps me get in touch with other people's intuitions and understand what they're going through.
