Tom Cruise surprised hikers this week when he parachuted from a mountain in the Lake District while filming Mission: Impossible 8.
The actor, 60, launched himself off the side of a mountain and paraglided into a field while being filmed by a cameraman.
Tom was joined on location by his co-star Simon Pegg who was spotted watching the action while waiting next to a car.

'Me and Adrian were thinking, "Oh my God it's Tom Cruise! Look at him - he's amazing!' 
Tom, who plays Ethan Hunt in the franchise, reportedly apologised for ruining a couple's hike while filming the scene. 
Jason and Sarah Haygarth were going for a walk nearby when they spotted the production crew's helicopter.
'Toward the end of the walk, last peak, we start seeing helicopters coming up a ravine and dropping people off the top… We were like, this didn't seem right,' Jason told Extra.





Tense: Simon was seen leaping from a car and running through the field during filming 






Casual: Simon, who plays Benji Dunn in the franchise, wrapped up in a black bomber jacket and a pair of fark trousers 






She told the Daily Express: 'It was weird to be standing there wtching this movie star who I had seen when I was younger in Top Gun'
