Leah Remini is warning fans not to let Tom Cruise's 'movie star charm fool you' as his latest film Top Gun: Maverick becomes his biggest domestic hit. With the star's action flick is expected to gross more than $792 million in the box office globally in the next few days, the 51-year-old actress and former Scientologist praised her friend, Claire Headley, on Twitter for calling out his alleged 'crimes against humanity.' 'Thank you to my friend @claireheadley for your courage,' the King of Queens star tweeted on Saturday. 'You have continued to speak out despite the non-stop attacks from Scientology.'
Though she's now an active critic of Scientology, Leah was raised in the church as a child and left the organization in 2013; seen in 2019
She went on: 'It just pushed me further into a place of terror and insecurity. It was a real shame. And bless him. And I really do mean bless him, because he was trying his damnedest... He wasn't horrible. It was just — he was really stressed'. Though she's now an active critic of Scientology, Leah was raised in the church as a child. She left in 2013 and has since been vocal with her criticisms of the organization. From 2016-2019, she starred in Leah Remini: Scientology And The Aftermath, which sought to expose 'shocking stories of abuse, heartbreak and harassment experienced by those who have left the church and spoken publicly about their experiences,' according to A&E.
