An Australian mother has been left terrified after claiming to hear a man say 'that's a cute one' over her baby monitor.  
Kiara had only just fallen asleep when she heard a strange sound coming from the $99 monitor in her bedroom at 1.40am on October 29.
The scared mother-of-three from Melbourne quickly woke up her partner Daniel and told him that she heard a man say, 'mmm... that's a cute one' coming from the direction of the monitoring device.
'Daniel thought someone was in the house, so he checked all the rooms but I was sure it was the monitor so I asked him to unplug it straight away and I uninstalled the app becaus[/img]

Following the scary incident, Kiara (pictured) realised that this was not the first time the baby monitor may have been hacked

Dennis Desmond, an Associate Lecturer in Cyber Intelligence at the University of the Sunshine Coast, said he was not surprised that the baby monitor was hacked.
He explained that it was common for the Chinese brand, Mirabella, to be 'vulnerable'. 
The company however said their products are designed to 'international standards for a global market'. 
They also said they are not aware of any other 'hacking or vulnerability incidents'.
