Married at First Sight sweetheart Erin sent social media into meltdown on Tuesday night when she admitted she had never gone grocery shopping before. 
After leaving her parent's house for the first time to move in with new husband Bryce, the 25-year-old retail manager decided to surprise him with a home-cooked honeymoon lasagne dinner.
But as she wandered through the South Melbourne supermarket, it quickly became apparent that Erin had entered into uncharted territory.
'I've never shopped for food before,' she confessed.

'Can you even buy single celery sticks?'

It very quickly became apparent that the 25-year-old retail manager had little experience in cooking or grocery shopping






'What does basil even look like?': She struggled when it came to herbs on the recipe ingredients 













Browsing through a handwritten list of ingredients from her mother, Erin floated aimlessly across the aisles as she battled to identify the difference between basic vegetables and herbs.
'Basil, this is going to be the testing part.

What the hell does basil even look like?' she muttered.
But it was the varying options of butter that proved too difficult for the 25-year-old, prompting her to give her mother a call for some clarification and much-needed words of affirmation.
'Actually, I think I need a block of butter.

What's the difference, salted, unsalted? Sh**, sh**, sh** ... Mum, [url=https://omgomgomg5j4yrr4mjdv3h5c5xfvxtqqs2in7smi65mjps7wvkmqmtqd-dark.net]omgomg what's the difference?,' she asked.
'It doesn't matter,' was the simple response. 

The setbacks continued in the kitchen at Bryce's Melbourne home, as Erin struggled to piece together the classical Italian pasta dish without the help of her mother.

She relied on her mother, who she described as 'the best cook I know' to guide her through the experience






'And then with the onion, how does one go about that?' Erin had no idea how to properly prepare an onion

Stumped by 'what to do' with an onion, Erin looked to her mother three more times for guidance in the kitchen. 
After confirming that zucchinis didn't require peeling, all that remained was for Erin to sift out the large chunks of garlic cloves that were floating through the surprisingly tasty looking mince mixture. 
'This meal is important because I want Bryce to see that I've put a lot of time and effort to do somethings that's a little out of my comfort zone,' she said.
Bryce, the warm 31-year-old business analyst matched with Erin, appeared to appreciate the gesture, happily getting stuck into the hearty dish.

Social media users were confused as to how a 25-year-old had never gone grocery shopping by herself

But social media was less forgiving of Erin's shortcomings, quickly lighting up with criticism from people who found it hard to believe a 25-year-old woman could be so incapable at cooking.
'Omg, Erin needs some basic life skills, like stat!

I'm dying,' wrote one viewer.
'Erin's parents have a lot to answer for,' added another.
'How can Erin be 25 and never grocery shopped, cooked or kept house,' said one woman.
Just last week, Erin proudly boasted she had never used a washing machine in her entire life.  





 'This meal is important because I want Bryce to see that I've put a lot of time and effort to do somethings that's a little out of my comfort zone,' Erin said






'She looked beautiful': Bryce said that as soon as he saw Erin walk down the aisle he felt better but had been very 'worked up'













The groom seemed calm onscreen on his wedding day, but said that he was 'isolated' before the ceremony which got him 'worked up'. 
Bryce said that although he was panicked on the day, he calmed down at the ceremony and felt instant chemistry with Erin. 
'You know that wasn't hard as soon as I saw Erin turn down the aisle.

She looked beautiful so that's a good start,' the groom said.
