Santiago Nicholas Carrera Sanguinetti (Spanish. Santiago Nicolas Carrera Sanguinetti; born March 5, 1994, Montevideo) – Uruguayan footballer, defender of the club „Defensor Sporting".

Club career

Carrera is a graduate of the capital’s River Plate club. On February 19, 2011, in a match against Central Espanyol, he made his debut in the Uruguayan Example. On 25 August 2012, in a duel against Juventud Las Piedras, Santiago scored his first goal for River Plate. In early 2014, he moved to Court America. On February 1, in a match against Juventud Las Piedras, Carrera made his debut for the new team. A week later, in a duel against the capital „Phoenix", Santiago scored his first goal for „Court America".

At the beginning of 2015, he transferred to the Argentinean Huracan on loan. On February 28, in a match against Godoy Cruz, Carerra made his debut in the Argentine Example. In the summer of the same year, Santiago moved on loan to the capital’s Liverpool. On August 16, in a match against Montevideo Wanderers, he made his debut for the new team. At the end of the lease, Carrera returned to Court America.

Since 2017 he has been playing for Defensor Sporting.

International career

In 2011, Carrera took part in the Uruguayan youth team in the South American Youth Championship in Ecuador. At the tournament, he played in a match against Peru.

In the same year, Carrera won silver medals at the World Youth Championships in Mexico. In the tournament, he played in matches against teams from Canada and Rwanda.
