Gambler’s Help has been attending Midsumma for many years. With the move online, we would like to continue to offer support to the LGBTI+ community in an engaging way online. Gambling harm can be difficult to talk openly about with family and friends and our service offers a range of supports and information to assist with asking for help. Our counselling and community education services offer support for friends and family of those affected by harm and raise awareness about the many ways that gambling harm can affect the wider community.

Kara House is a Specialist Family Violence Service based in the Eastern suburbs providing specialist domestic and family violence support to individuals and their children regardless of gender identity and sexual orientation. Services include risk assessment and safety planning, case management and advocacy, referral to other services, secondary consultation and community education. We offer short-term secure accommodation for those who need relocation for their safety and support to clients living in the wider community. Their trusted self-help information, peer-support program and referral tools save lives by helping young people be well and stay well. The information they offer parents makes it easier for them to help their teenagers, too. Accessed by more than 2 million people in Australia each year, ReachOut is a free service that’s available anytime and pretty much anywhere.

We are a Queer-Friendly, Rainbow Tick Accredited organisation that provides a wide range of services to people experiencing homelessness and family violence, or who might be struggling with issues around alcohol or other drugs or mental health. VincentCare has a number of queer staff in specific LGBTIQ roles, but we have also provided training to all our staff to make sure that whoever helps you on the day is friendly, welcoming and informed.
