Financial crook Jordan Belfort spent 22 months in prison after it was brought to light that he had scammed more than 1,500 people out of thousands of dollars through an elaborate stockbroker scheme in 1999 - and his story captured the nation when it was re-told in the Martin Scorsese movie Wolf of Wall Street years later.
While committing the fraudulent crimes, Jordan, now 60, was married to a beautiful model named Nadine Macaluso, who was just 22 years old when she met the entrepreneur at a house party in the Hamptons and quickly became 'mesmerized' by his immense wealth.
The pair soon entered into a whirlwind romance, and were together for 14 years - welcoming two children - before they split in 2005.
Their tumultuous marriage was showcased in the 2013 film - which starred Leonardo DiCaprio as Jordan and Margot Robbie as Nadine (who was called Naomi in the flick), as well as Jonah Hill, Kyle Chandler, Rob Reiner, Jon Bernthal, and Matthew McConaughey.

As Nadine, 54, who is now a marriage counselor and family therapist, speaks out, FEMAIL has lifted a lid on the her and Jordan's doomed marriage - including how they met, why she stayed with the criminal, and what the final straw was for her 

She admitted on the app that it was 'not fun' to have a movie 'made about her life,' but that she is now 'ready to share her side of the story' - telling her followers to 'hold on tight' because she has 'a lot of great things to expose.'
'I'm ready to share my side of the story and the wisdom I've learned along the way,' she explained. 'I am very ready now to tell my truth on exactly what happened through my experience, my narrative, and my lens as a mother, wife, daughter, daughter-in-law, and most importantly a therapist and educated woman.'
While Nadine insisted that 'a lot' of what happened in the movie 'wasn't true,' her relationship with Jordan had its ups and downs in real life; after they went their separate ways, Nadine accused Jordan of physical and mental abuse, which she claimed was fueled by incessant drug use and continued infidelity.

And according to the model, who told DailyMail.com in April 2021 that she grew up 'poor,' she was 'mesmerized' by his immense wealth.
'I would be lying if I said I wasn't mesmerized by money,' she admitted. 'Ironically, I thought that the money was safe. Little did I know, it would actually put me in harms way.'

After they split, Nadine accused the businessman of domestic violence, which she said was fueled by his struggles with addiction and his infidelity. 
'Jordan was abusive - emotionally and verbally abusive,' she told DailyMail.com, adding that his drug use 'ramped up' his 'viciousness and cruelty.'
She claimed that Jordan began taking Quaaludes for a bad back, but soon became addicted, and that he also started using cocaine to counter the effects.

'I don't know where I would be without therapy,' she gushed. 'I had to do it as a living. I can't even believe I get paid to do it.'
She reportedly didn't receive any money from Jordan when they split.
Soon after, she left New York City behind and moved to Hermosa Beach, California.
In 2008, she decided to go back to school and graduated from Pacifica Graduate Institute with a degree in Clinical Psychology two years later. She then earned her PhD in 2015. 
Now, she works as a marriage counselor and family therapist, and uses her past experiences to help her patients, explaining, 'Experience is the greatest teacher.'
She is also a breast cancer survivor, and has remarried. She has been with her new husband, John Macaluso, who has three kids from a past relationship, for 22 years now.
