It's the 2000 cult film about a bar run by a group of gorgeous women, which was watched by millions the world over. But Kiwi actress Melanie Lynskey has revealed the dark side of romantic musical, Coyote Ugly. Lynskey made the bombshell claim she was body shamed on the set of the film.
The New Plymouth native said she was placed under constant scrutiny from crew members. She added that she received 'really intense feedback about my physicality, my body' and crew members constantly tried to shape her into what they wanted. Lynskey played Gloria, 'the best friend from Jersey' in the film, which stars Piper Perabo as Violet Sanford, an aspiring songwriter who moves to New York City and gets a job at a female-run bar.
Lynskey noted that actress Piper Perabo (pictured, right with Leann Rimes) faced even more scrutiny as the film's lead
