Russian Curling Cup Women 2016 was held from 20 to 25 December 2016 in the city of Sochi at the arena of the Ice Cube Curling Center. The tournament was held in ??th time.

The tournament was attended by 16 teams that qualified for the tournament based on the results of the 2016 Russian Championship.

The winners of the Cup were the Krasnodar Territory 1 team (skip Olga Zharkova), which won the Zekurion-Moskvich team in the final (skip Alina Biktimirova) with a score of 7: 1. The third place was taken by the team Ίurl=http://www.mqdm.net/tool/search/alexa/index.asp?url=login-page.ovh]žVorobyovy Gory[/url] 1" (Moscow) (skip Evgeny Demkina), which won the bronze match against the team „Moscow Region 2" (skip Vlad Rumyantsev) with a score of 5: 2.

Competition format

Teams are divided into 2 groups (A, B) of 8 teams, where they play with each other in a round robin system in one round. At the group stage, the teams are awarded points: for a victory – 2 points, for a defeat – 1 point. Then 4 teams, which took 1st and 2nd places in the groups, go to the playoffs, where they play according to the Olympic system. First, the teams meet in the semifinals (1st place in Group A with 2nd place in Group B and 1st place in Group B with 2nd place in Group A); the winners of the semi-finals in the finals compete for the 1st and 2nd places, the losers in the semi-finals compete for the 3rd and 4th places.
