Brendan Fraser has revealed wearing a 330lb fat suit while shooting The Whale made him appreciate how 'physically and emotionally' strong overweight people are.
The actor, 54, portrays Charlie in the upcoming movie, a reclusive, morbidly obese English teacher who attempts to reconnect with his estranged teenage daughter.
Appearing on Friday's The Graham Norton Show, he also discussed his so-called 'Brenaissance', which marks his triumphant return to Hollywood after a lengthy battle with depression.

'When the costume came off, I could still feel the undulation and I grew to appreciate how strong physically and emotionally a person of that size has to be.'
Asked about people calling this performance his 'Brenaissance', he says, 'They can call me whatever they want as long as they call me!'
Brendan, who recently won the Best Actor gong at the Critics' Choice Awards, has been nominated for the Best Actor Award at the 2023 BAFTA Film awards due to be held on February 19.
The actor had tears running down his face as he earned the Best Actor gong for his work on The Whale in what was the most emotional moment of the night at the event which featured a star-studded red carpet.
