It's been more than three years since comic book icon Stan Lee passed away, but many like Ryan Reynolds are proving he's far from forgotten.
The 45-year-old actor took to his Instagram story on Tuesday afternoon to share a throwback snap from the set of one of the Deadpool movies.
Reynolds was in full costume as Lee was seen smiling up at the actor in the throwback snap.

The actor captioned the pic, 'HBD @TheRealStanLee.'
Reynolds had previously shared the photo upon Lee's death, revealing it was from his, 'first time meeting Stan Lee' on April 1, 2015.

While Lee's contributions to comic books have made him a legend, co-creating iconic characters like Spider-Man, Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Black Panther and Daredevil, just to name a few, he's also known to modern audiences for his obligatory cameos in every recent Marvel movie.

The PG-13 version of the sequel, dubbed Once Upon a Deadpool, featured RIP on the graffiti art, since it was released after his death in November 2018. 
Reynolds wasn't the only celebrity to honor Lee on his birthday, with director Kevin Smith also honoring him with a special post.
The filmmaker shared a behind-the-scenes video from his 2016 movie Yoga Hosers, along with a heartfelt caption.
