There are many varieties of Psilocybe cubenis, each named after a different location. The most common are the Burmese, Cambodian, Costa Rican, Ecuadorian, Guadalajara, Chilean, and Palenque strains. Psilocybe azurescens

There are many closely related species of mushrooms within the Psilocybe genus P. Azurescens is distinctive in the sense that it doesn't have a common range with other species. As a result, it is classified as an LBM (low-browser mushroom). LBMs are collections of nondescript, unrelated mushrooms. This makes identification challenging. Foragers must be cautious in identifying the mushrooms they find and take spore prints to verify their identification.
