Story

In ancient times, there was a churchyard Nikolo-Dor, by whose name the whole volost was called Dorovskaya. The name of the churchyard came from the St. Nicholas Church located here and from the verb "dor„, Meaning" to tear „," rip out „- to clean the place from the forest. Nearby was the Sharitskaya volost, located along the upper course of the Shachi River.

The village arose during the reign of Ivan the Terrible and was inhabited by black-sowed peasants. In 1613 it was granted to Ivan Nikitich Romanov:

In the 17th century, the Dorovskaya volost was the fiefdom of the Romodanovsky princes, who received it for the defense of Moscow from the Poles in 1618 .. The first owner was Prince Grigory Petrovich Romodanovsky, then the Dorovskaya volost, according to the division, went to his sons Vasily Grigorievich Sr. and Vasily Grigorievich the younger. Then the brothers again made a partition – and Palkino was assigned to the descendants of Vasily the Elder. In addition to the Romodanovskys, in the 17th century, part of the lands of the Dorovskaya volost was owned by Gleb Ivanovich Morozov. When the daughter of Prince Stepan Vasilyevich Romodanovsky and the granddaughter of Prince Vasily Sr., Martha married Prince Boris Mikhailovich Cherkassky, the patrimony passed to the latter.

Trade routes from Novgorod and from the north through Galich and Chukhloma to Vyatka, Siberia and Kazan passed through the village. In 1673 there was a tavern in Palkin, which was kept by Yakushka Dementyev.

In 1724, the son of Prince B.M. Cherkassky Pyotr Borisovich Cherkassky sold Palkino to the landowner Ivan Musin-Pushkin, about which there is a corresponding entry in the land register of Galich:

In 1928, Palkino became the center of the district. In 1930, the collective farm „Lenin’s Way" was created in the village. Subsequently, the center of the district was moved to Antropovo.
