What to consider before ordering a photo book
What are the available book sizes?
What are the cover and page style options? (Matte, glossy, standard, etc.)
Can it be done on mobile, or is the site desktop-only?
How long will the photo book take to arrive?
Is it easy to upload photos?
How much creative freedom do I have with templates?
Here are the best photo-book services to check out online. We'll update this periodically as new services become available and existing services expand their offerings.
Making a photo book with Blurb has a steeper learning curve than the rest of the services on this list. Blurb is aimed at the professional photographer wanting to showcase their work and possibly sell it via a professional photo book. You can still use Blurb to make a photo book as a keepsake or a gift for a loved one, but you need to download the free Bookwright app extension to do so after making an account with the photo-book service. You can also use programs like Adobe InDesign and Adobe Lightroom, but I would only recommend using these if you already pay for them.
It would be more than cumbersome to include every price, but for reference, a 20-page, 10-by-8-inch landscape photo book with an image-wrap hardcover and premium luster paper costs $41. Each additional page costs 43 cents. My test album was the cheapest combination: a 20-page, 7-by-7-inch softcover with standard paper for $15. Each additional page was 24 cents. The site also offers discounts for volume orders.
The 12-by-12-inch premium layflat starts at $40 and has a special spine to accommodate bigger photo spreads. The 11.25-by-8.75-inch hardcover photo book starts at $20. Costco also offers a two-pack of 8-by-8-inch softcover photo books starting at $20.
