Drone company DJI launched a $499 mini camera drone that lifts off from the palm of the hand.
It captures and shares photos on the go, and can be controlled by hand gestures alone.
It allows users to send the drone up and away, take a selfie and be called with a hand gesture - and weighs less than a can of soda. 













The drone, called Spark, weighs just 10.6 ounces (300 grams) and can be operated by a remote controller, a mobile device, or via hand gestures. 
The drone will be sold in five different colors: White, blue, green, red and yellow.
The drone has four 'quick shot' features available that allow the user to design a preset flight path, while the drone records video and tracks the subject. 
For example, [url=https://www.answers.com/search?q=%27rocket%20mode%27]'rocket mode' sends the drone up in the air with the camera pointed downwards. 
'Dronie' mode flies up and away from the subject, 'Circle' rotates around the subject and 'Helix' spirals away from the subject as it flies upwards. 
For each of these modes, the drone takes a 10-second video that can be shared on social media.

The drone will be sold in five different colors: White, blue, green, red and yellow

This mode also sets the camera gimbal to a first-person view by default, so the camera moves with the user as they operate it.
The drone will also be compatible with DJI goggles for an immersive, first-person view experience of the drone's flight. 
The drone's camera captures 12 megapixel photos and shoots stabilized HD 1080 videos.
It sits on a 2-axis mechanical gimbal and 'UltraSmooth' technology reduces shake and rolling shutter effect. 
A companion app allows users to use filters and editing templates on videos before sharing them to social media.
The drone also includes previous DJI drone shooting modes including PanoMode, which creates horizontal or vertical panoramas, and ShallowFocus, which allows part of a photo to be put in sharp focus, while the rest of the image is softened.

Power-wise, it has a high density LiPo battery with a maximum flight time of up to 16 minutes - and when flying with the remote controller, 720p video can be transmitted from up to 1.2 miles (2 kilometers away).

The drone will cost $499 and includes a batter, USB charger and three pairs of propellers. 
But the SparkFly More Combo includes the drone, two batteries, four pairs of propellers, a remote controller, propeller guards, a charging hub, a bag and cables - for $699. 
The drone will be available for pre-order at store.dji.com, four DJI Flagship Stores, and authorized dealers, and pre-orders will start shipping in mid-June.
