The techniques Riefenstahl used were an achievement of the time although she should have put them to better use than the creation of war propaganda. The definition of revolutionary is involving or causing a complete or dramatic change, which the film did.

The divisiveness within American society is at an all-time high. These same companies have rules and regulations that serve to homogenize the workforce so originality and invention play virtually no part. While it's hard to say if zombies have reached their pinnacle in the American psyche, take a look at what's going on in our society now. We are supposed to be the same, get the same, and be happy just being part of the status quo. We (again, in general) feel helpless and impotent against a government that is intent on establishing that same homogenization, just on a larger scale. There's constant uproar over the haves vs. There's anger at companies whose CEOs make hand-over-fist in money while the "zombies" who truly do most of the work make a mere pittance in comparison. We are, in general, expected to go in, do our work with no questions asked, and leave, only to repeat the process day in and day out.

It's really about money. Movie flops are different. The bigger the production and actors starring in the film, the more the money invested goes up. The release date comes around and then...uh oh. The hope then becomes to at least break even as they stare staying in the red in the face. Movies are made with millions of dollars and the hope is that it's good enough to earn back the investment and plenty more. Jobs are lost, reputations are destroyed, and entire genres of movies are plagued for years. The pressure is on to make sure the film is a hit. Box office reports are flat and very quickly everyone realizes that there will probably be no recovery from such a dismal start.

This is the second feature film from new filmmaker Ari Astar and is the follow-up to his debut film titled Hereditary. While that initial film achieved modest success, this second film appears destined to become a cult classic, largely because of its unique content.
