Prison guards are under investigation over the mysterious death of a female inmate after the alleged discovery of her drugs stash at a jail in north Queensland. The 44-year-old prisoner of Pacific Islander heritage died at Townsville Women's Correctional Centre on Tuesday evening, Queensland Corrective Services said. The Samoan mother collapsed after she was allegedly forcibly moved from one unit to another against her will. Prison officers performed CPR on her until paramedics arrived, but she could not be revived.
